Bob Gill's Latest is His Best (so far)

Once again, Bob Gill hits a home run. This is his best book (so far).
As a Professor at Parsons School of Design, I've been using Bob's books in my Introduction to Graphic Design classes for years.
Bob has the remarkable ability to teach both experienced designers and students how to think.
This book focuses on how to develop a concept, the single most important lesson for every designer in every design specialty.
Bob's examples are simple, to the point, brilliant. His writing is funny, thoughtful, totally engaging.
He clarifies the approach to finding solutions for even the most sophisticated design problems.
My students tell me that whenever they are given a new assignment, the first thought they have is "WWBGD" (What Would Bob Gill Do?)
I often ask myself the same question.

recycle for fun and profit

I am a great admirer of Mr. Gill's work and often tout his unique approach to problem re-definition. However, (and I will confess I did not read any fine print describing the content), it's nothing more than a greatest hits compilation. I don't think there's a piece in here that I don't have in one of his previous publications. And this is a profound disappointment. I mean, it ain't cheap, and he must have done something fresh since the last book.
Two stars 'cause I love his work, but three missing because I feel a little cheated. I guess Mr. Gill has to make money somehow, but he should make more of an effort than just recycling his past efforts.

Your first Gill book

Great survey of Bob Gill's work and his clever design solutions. I'm not actually a fan of Gill's illustration style, I find it too squiggly and childlike, but I enjoy seeing the way his mind works.
